Even though Leicester City could be about to make a serious bid for São Paulo defender Lucas Beraldo, it seems they may find some resistance for a quick deal.
Earlier this week, we had already covered stories from the Brazilian media claiming that the centre-back ‘deserves better’ than a Championship side.
Now as journalist Alexsander Vieira features an update on Leicester City’s attempt, he claims there’s ‘no hurry’ from São Paulo to make the sale.
It’s said the Foxes’ bid ‘should be the first of many’, and the Tricolor want to wait for the other offers to see how far the auction can go.
The reporter claims that Beraldo’s entourage share a similar opinion, as they believe the player should go to a top club, without the need for a stepping stone before that.
With such confidence from his surroundings, it seems the centre-back will need to be convinced by Leicester City to accept a move to the Championship, even if they look set for promotion.
Perhaps that’s why the Foxes are still to place the promised €20m bid for the signing.
