Over the past year, Bilal El Khannouss has, albeit weakly, been linked with Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City.
At one point one of the 20-year-old’s friends spoke to the Belgian media about how strange it was to see him involved in such rumours as his young career progresses.
He hasn’t quite had as busy a summer as some will have expected and given how close we are now to the end of the window, it looked like the player would be staying at Genk for another season.
Not so.
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri now reports Bilal El Khannouss is on the verge of a move to Leicester City. According to the claims, which sound very confident, the Foxes are going in 100% for the signing.
The newly promoted Premier League club are set to send Genk an offer worth £15-20m for the attacking midfielder. Tavolieri says Leicester City and the player have already agreed personal terms on the basis of a four year deal.
The reason for there seeming to be less interest than expected this summer is put down to Genk’s asking price.
