Besiktas have signed Leicester City midfielder Gokhan Inler on a three-year deal, according to claims in the Turkish media.
Inler arrived in Istanbul at midnight, said: ”I’m delighted. It’s my primary choice. It’s been a long and hard transfer journey but finally it’s finished. I’m very happy that I am joining Besiktas. For 10 years there was always a possibility for me to play here in Turkey and it’s finally become true.”
The Turkish media claimed throughout the transfer window that Inler’s preferred choice was Besiktas, despite Marseille, Lyon and Cagliari all showing an interest to sign him.
It’s also worth noting that Besiktas signed Inler on a free, and subsequently it’s quite a loss for Premier League champions considering they signed him for €7million just a year ago.
Inler is the 9th summer arrival at Besiktas this summer, and today they are expected to confirm the signings of Atınç Nukan and Caner Erkin.
