Liverpool youngster Luis Alberto has this morning arrived for his medical ahead of a proposed move to Lazio. The 23-year-old has struggled to make an impact at Liverpool since joining the club in 2013, and subsequently will move in this window.

Lalazio Siamo Noi have reported in the last hour that Alberto is undergoing his medical in Rome accompanied by Lazio team manager Stefan Derkum.

Alberto is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Serie A side once he passes his medical after Liverpool and Lazio agreed on a transfer fee of €5m plus €2m in bonuses. The young attacking midfielder will receive a salary of around €1.2m a season.

Alberto joined Liverpool in 2013 from La Liga side Sevilla, but he failed to make an impact in his time with the Merseyside club, making just nine league appearances in three seasons. His failure to hold down a place in the team resulted in the player being sent out on loan to Spanish sides Deportivo La Coruna and Malaga.
