There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Leicester City are now closing in on Galatasaray winger Wilfried Zaha.
The former Crystal Palace player only joined the Turkish champions last summer but found himself edged out of the starting eleven towards the end of the season.
Ajanspor today report Leicester City are negotiating a year long loan deal for Zaha, who isn’t considered part of Galatasaray’s plans for next season. It’s claimed Cimbom will receive around €9m from the loan deal, whilst not all Turkish reports say so it would be assumed that includes the player’s salary.
Gala sporting director Cenk Ergün has also revealed Zaha has asked for a transfer and wants to move on this summer. Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has reported on a statement released by Ergün in which he said negotiations are ongoing for Zaha to leave.
“Wilfried Zaha requested to leave. If he meets our conditions and the negotiations go well, we will make the necessary statement,” said the Galatasaray director.
Zaha made 42 appearances for the Istanbul side last season, scoring ten goals. However, he was left out of the opening game of season last weekend and his future at the club looks uncertain.
He’s contracted until June 2026.
