Having lost prominence at Leeds United after the first two months of this season, Diego Llorente went out on loan to AS Roma in the winter market.
The Serie A side have an option to make the defender’s stay permanent for €18m.
Initially, there were concerns over the Giallorossi exercising this option, but that no longer seems to be the case now if a report from Il Romanista is to be believed.
José Mourinho has started the centre-back in the last three matches, during which the Leeds owned player has impressed as Roma haven’t conceded a goal.
In addition to this, the Spain international’s displays has convinced both Roma and the former Chelsea boss, so much so that the possibility of extending his stay in the Italian capital is ‘becoming more and more concrete’.
Although the redemption option is set at €18m, the report says Leeds ‘won’t put too much resistance’ to sanction Llorente’s sale in the summer, if they receive an offer of around €15m.
Last week, Llorente admitted he would like to extend his stay at Roma after this season, meaning the latest report would come as a boost in his desire to continue with the Giallorossi.
