Italian website Calcio Mercato featured a piece on Wednesday evening with the latest updates on Leeds United’s chase for Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez.
The outlet reports that the negotiations could ‘soon have a positive outcome’ for the Whites.
Nandez is protected by a release clause of €36m, and even though Cagliari have been pushing for that amount, it’s now ‘not excluded’ that a deal could be done for around €30m.
Calciomercato say Leeds United have a ‘super offer ready’, which is presumably the €30m.
The report claims the player’s future is now ‘almost certainly far from Sardinia’, as Leeds keep testing for the best deal they can find with Cagliari.
Calcio Mercato adds that Inter Milan have ‘not completely given up’ on the player, even though it’s not certain if they’d still make an attempt. Especially because the Nerazzurri are still ‘far away’ from Leeds, who are ‘determined to close the deal as soon as possible’.
On Wednesday morning, newspaper La Nuova Sardegna had already claimed that the move to Elland Road is ‘closer is closer’ as the clubs were nearing a financial agreement for the Uruguay international.
