Ermedin Demirovic has had several impressive seasons in the Bundesliga and is now on Leeds United‘s radar.

The striker has found the net 12 times in the league this season for Stuttgart, also racking up four assists. He scored 15 times in the 2024/25 campaign, having joined Die Roten from Augsburg for €23m in 2024.

Even at Augsburg, his goal contributions numbers were very reliable. In 66 games, he scored 23 times and chipped in with 16 assists.

This is the 28-year-old’s sixth full season in the Bundesliga and attention around him is increasing. Leeds United are in the fray to sign him in the summer.

Whites may have advantage

Corriere dello Sport today report that while Lazio have been linked with him, they are unlikely to be a major contender for the Bosnia international.

Roma have also been interested in Demirovic in the past but they are unlikely to revive their move.

Leeds United are ‘strongly interested’ and because of their financial capacity, are likely in the lead for the striker. Stuttgart would be happy with around €30m to sell him but aren’t looking to give any hefty discounts to suitors.

That is one reason why Lazio don’t appear keen. €30m will be out of their reach and they are now relying on January signing Petar Ratkov to come alive next season.

They paid €14m to sign him and wouldn’t want to pay €30m for another striker in six months.

Our take: Demirovic could be an underrated signing

Daniel Farke has become known for bringing in Germany-based players at a lot of his clubs. He did the same at Norwich City and the likes of Christoph Zimmermann, Tom Trybull and Marco Stiepermann went down as successful incomings.

Anton Stach has done well at Leeds United so far too, playing 34 times in all competitions.

That is why interest in Demorovic might have something to it. He has been very reliable in the Bundesliga across multiple years for three clubs. As well as playing at centre-forward, he can also play in wide areas and fill in during times of need.

This can make him a low-key signing that offers significant value next season. Farke’s presence can prove important to bring him to Elland Road.
