Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson believes his no-nonsense style of play is the reason Elland Road’s faithful have taken to him. The Swede joined Leeds United in the summer window, and has become something of a cult hero with fans.
“Maybe because I play with a lot heart and always give 100 percent, and also as I’m doing well and producing good performances. I’m happy they like me,” said the Leeds United summer signing.
Jansson has been one of Garry Monk’s standout players this season after joining from Torino last August. The 26-year-old initially signed for the Championship side on a loan deal, but this has now been made permanent for a transfer fee of £3.4m.
However, Jansson has been out been left out of Monk’s starting eleven in recent games, and was only included last night due to Liam Cooper’s suspension.
