Over the past week or so, Leeds United have been working on a move for Lecce’s Nikola Krstovic after sealing a transfer for Jaka Bijol.

Whites’ attempts for the striker are expected to continue into the next few days and Corriere dello Sport claim this will be an ‘intense week’ for a potential move.

The newspaper state Leeds United made an ‘important offer’ for the Montenegro player early in June and the amount is quite close to Lecce’s valuation.

They ideally want a fee of €25m to €30m for the forward, who would prefer to stay in Italy. Serie A clubs are struggling to meet that price tag and this is giving Leeds United a chance.

Lecce have sought replacements for Krstovic in the market already. Contact has been made for Basel’s Kevin Carlos and there is also interest in AC Milan talent Francesco Camarda.

This week could decide the 25-year-old’s fate, with Leeds United said to be putting on pressure and intense week expected.
