Dejan Ljubičić has been keen on leaving 1. FC Köln for Leeds United this summer. On Tuesday, Bild reported the player definitely wants to go to Elland Road.
Earlier today, the same outlet reported the 26-year-old has Leeds on his mind. It was also stated the Whites could increase their offer, after their €4m bid was rejected.
The midfielder has less than a year left on his deal and hasn’t yet accepted a renewal offer.
A fresh report from Bild says Leeds have ended their interest in the Austria international.
Köln sporting director Christian Keller decided to ask for €8m. This is too high for Daniel Farke’s side, who have offered €4m so far. This isn’t the only reason the English club have decided to pull out of the ‘transfer poker’.
It’s claimed Leeds found it complicated to deal with Ljubičić and his entourage in recent days. The Austrian was allegedly surrounded by multiple representatives trying to get involved in a transfer to the Championship side.
1. FC Köln were also left angered by the situation, and by agents trying to push a deal through. Dejan Ljubičić’s dream move to Leeds United is now ‘off the table’.
