Leeds United are in the picture to bring Douglas Luiz back to the Premier League this summer after his miserable year at Juventus.

That’s according to Tuttosport, who report that the Brazilian is on Leeds transfer list, as he’s up for sale at Juventus.

They explain that the 27-year-old is set to leave Juventus this summer, after being deemed surplus to requirements after a year at the club. He joined in a €50m from Aston Villa last summer but has never settled.

Juventus want a deal worth €40m to avoid any capital loss on the transfer but finding a club to pay that figure after his year in Italy will be difficult.

There are no shortage of interested parties despite that, and Leeds are one of them, but they are unlikely to be keen at those figures.

It’s something to work out and Juventus could offer the alternative of a loan with an obligation to buy next summer. At that point, he could be signed for €30m and Juventus would avoid the accounting loss they’re keen to dodge. That figure is seen as being closer to his real value.

Leeds United might have some work to do convincing Douglas Luiz into the move, but with the loan an option now, the Premier League returnees are interested… and if that price is correct, that interest will only grow.
