There’s been multiple Italian reports over the past 48 hours reporting a Leeds United offer for Lecce’s Nikola Krstovic.
While the Italian club’s asking price for the striker stands at €35m, the amount offered by the Whites has largely been unknown, although the insinuation has been it was a high enough offer to make Lecce take notice.
Corriere dello Sport today report Leeds United are indeed ‘serious’ about signing the Montenegrin striker but the newspaper have a slightly different stance about Lecce’s demand.
They claim the Giallorossi will be happy with an amount between €25m and €30m and are awaiting any definitive offers that come their way.
Leeds United have now ‘decided to accelerate’ their move for the striker, having made first contact for the potential signing early in June. They are carrying forward their interest and this is causing Lecce to reflect on replacements.
Basel’s Kevin Carlos is seen as a target and he has been on their shortlist for a while. The Italian club have spoken to multiple agents already in the hope of staying safe in the case of Krstovic’s exit.
The 25-year-old is currently yet to issue a response to Leeds United about his transfer decision, with AS Roma and Sporting also linked with him.
