As has been widely reported since Monday morning, Leeds United have made a bid of €25m for Azzedine Ounahi.

The Angers SCO midfielder is the centre of attention of this January transfer window following his good performances at the World Cup, and the Whites appear to have joined in.

Napoli appears to be the player’s favourite destination to date, however, as it was made clear by L’Equipe on Monday morning that he wasn’t overly keen on a move to Leeds right now.

Well, we have some sort of confirmation of this coming out of Italy on Monday, with a report from Sky Italia stating Ounahi has already given his approval to a move to the south of Italy.

Relayed by Calico Napoli 24, the ‘editorial staff of Sky Sport 24’ explain that Napoli are ‘working to lower Angers’ requests’, with a meeting recently taking place to try and do so.

That’s when that first offer of €15m came in, but ‘there is still a slight difference compares to Angers’ request’.

However, the bad news for Leeds is that they already have ‘the player’s general availability for a transfer’, meaning he wants to go there.

Down their end, Napoli are prepared to ‘insist’ to get a transfer over the line, which isn’t what Jesse Marsch and the rest of the Elland Road staff will want to hear.
