With little time left in the transfer window, Leeds United are still actively looking for a new midfielder, with Bayern Munich’s Mickaël Cuisance the man at the top of their list.

Stories about an interest and subsequent negotiations between the Elland Road side and their Bavarian counterparts have been rife in recent days, with the latest coming from Foot Mercato.

The French website, who explain Cuisance was ‘expressly demanded’ by Marcelo Bielsa himself, state Bayern have ‘agreed to let the player go’ and opened talks with Leeds.

That being said, the Bundesliga side ‘have set the bar at a bit more than €20m’, but the newly promoted Premier League side ‘aren’t there yet’.

But, and it’s a positive one, the aforementioned negotiations between the two clubs ‘continue in the right direction’, and the fact Bayern are ‘already looking for a replacement’ suggests things are advancing.

Foot Mercato then end with the fateful ‘the next few hours will be crucial’.

It’s all very dramatic, but it does seem that barring anything unexpected (which can always happen at this stage of the transfer window), Cuisance is on his way to Elland Road.
