Hamburger SV were keen on signing Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville on a loan deal in the recently conclude winter market.

The German club were left disappointed after they failed to convince the Whites to let the winger go out on loan.

Despite initially wanting a response from Marcelo Bielsa’s side before last weekend, the HSV bosses had still not given up on signing the 20-year-old on the deadline day.

The Netherlands U21 international has been restricted to only one start in all competitions this season, which came in the EFL Cup. In addition to this, he has five appearances to his name in the league.

Hamburger Morgenpost on Tuesday explain Summerville was the ‘desired solution’ for HSV in January, but they were unable to conclude a deal.

Despite making ‘intensive attempts’ and the ‘player’s interest’, Leeds ‘stayed firm’ and didn’t let the Dutchman go out on loan.

Although HSV failed to sign him, the German bosses will continue to have Summerville on their agenda. It’s even claimed ‘another attempt will follow’ next summer.
