Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Bogusz is set to join Los Angeles FC, with it ‘impossible’ for loan club UD Ibiza to keep him.
That’s according to COPE, who say Bogusz has been asking for the move to happen since the January transfer window.
They explain that Bogusz wanted to leave the Spanish side, where he has been on loan since July 2021, but Ibiza ‘pushed’ for him to remain and help their fight against relegation.
That happened but the Leeds man is less than happy and now it is ‘impossible’ to keep hold of him as he is on his way to America.
According to their information, Leeds are ‘looking favourably’ on the transfer to Los Angeles and ‘welcome’ the move, while the player has ‘had his head elsewhere’ for some time now.
He’s been struggling for his best form at Ibiza since suffering a long-term injury last season, something he has not bounced back from completely.
He now seemingly fancies his chances in the sun in Los Angeles instead and with Leeds also keen on the move to happen, that’s left Ibiza powerless to stop it.
How much they and their Premier League counterparts will make from the transfer isn’t mentioned but at least as far as COPE are concerned, it is a case of when not if it happens.
