Earlier today we covered a report from Spain explaining that Spanish coach Paco Gallardo is set to joins Leeds United.
That report, from Mucho Deporte, detailed how Victor Orta had targeted the coach and he was set to move to Elland Road.
Estadio Deportivo follow that up, stating Gallardo ‘makes the leap’ to the Premier League and ‘has been signed’ by Leeds.
They say the coach is the latest of example of Sevilla’s continued exportation of talent to the Premier League, with the club developing players and talents alike that often end up in England.
It was he who wanted to add the coach to Jesse Marsch’s backroom staff, hoping he can help to ‘improve in the development’ of young talent at the club and ‘generating future capital gains’, which is part of his ‘roadmap’ at the club.
Gallardo will be tasked with both of those things, with Orta believing he is the ‘ideal person’ to do that as well as manage the U21s and ‘act as the necessary link’ between the youth set up and the first team.
The 42-year-old has been out of work since the end of the 2020/21 season, when he was in charge of Sevilla Atlético following several years of working his way up the club and impressing director of football Monchi.
Now he’s on his way to Leeds to work in their youth set up, and hopefully be the latest successful transfer following a busy summer of arrivals.
