Roma are close to finalising a deal for Leeds defender Rasmus Kristensen and have already secured the player’s approval for the move.
That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who says that a negotiation between the two sides is ‘advanced’ thanks to the player’s approval.
He reports that Roma have made a ‘surprise move’ for the Leeds defender this weekend and ‘initiated contacts’ with the player over a potential transfer.
He has ‘expressed his willingness’ to play for the Giallorossi next season and the Italian side has now moved on to ‘find an agreement’ with Leeds for a loan deal for next season in the next few days.
Roma’s interest in the player goes back to before he moved to Elland Road, with them having spoken to Salzburg about a potential deal. However, the Austrian side’s demand for €15m was considered too high.
Leeds then moved to sign him last summer and he was a regular for them last season but relegation from the Premier League means the conditions are there for Rome to get their man.
They’ve now made their move and with the player’s approval in hand, Jose Mourinho’s side are pushing to get a loan deal over the line.
