Arsenal’s Thomas Partey has ended up on the agenda of Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe ahead of the winter market.
That’s according to Takvim, who state the Istanbul clubs have plans to make an approach for the midfielder.
The 30-year-old has made five appearances this season and Mikel Arteta has mainly used him as a right-back in August. Since then, he’s made only one appearance and that came in Arsenal’s league win over Manchester City last month.
Partey was on the bench against Chelsea and left out of the squad in the Gunners’ 5-0 win over Sheffield United last weekend. On Tuesday, Mikel Arteta confirmed the Ghanian has suffered an injury setback and could be out for a few weeks.
Even before suffering the injury, there were claims stating that the player is unhappy with his limited role this season and could leave Arsenal in January.
After relaying this, Takvim then provide their own update by stating that both Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe are ‘expected to make a new move’ for the former Atlético Madrid man.
It’s not clear whether Partey’s injury would have an impact on the Turkish clubs’ plans to make an approach for him in the next window.
Takvim’s title says ‘the Premier League star [Partey] is coming to Galatasaray’ but there isn’t anything concrete within the report to back it up.
