The Sunday Express reported yesterday that PSG are ‘ready to offer’ £100m to Tottenham for Christian Eriksen.

It was surprising to say the least that an English newspaper would get the information ahead of PSG’s usually well informed local media. And it wasn’t the only surprising aspect.

Eriksen hasn’t really been strongly linked with PSG, he’s not thought to be the profile of player the French club are looking for right now. Then there’s the money, and PSG’s continual struggle with FFP after the signings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

It was claimed that PSG see Eriksen as a back-up option in case they fail to sign Ivan Rakitic from Barcelona.

Le Parisien have now gone to the extent of rubbishing the claims.

Headlining their article ‘PSG: Christian Eriksen will not come to Paris’, the newspaper makes their point clear.

Le Parisien state the information is even ‘less credible’ because PSG can’t pay such a sum for either Rakitic or Eriksen.

Should the club manage to sell Goncalo Guedes in the next few days and bring in some money then they’ll look at signing a left back, and ‘to a lesser extent’ a midfielder, but it’s insisted that won’t be the Tottenham player.
