Hugo Ekitiké has submitted a transfer request to Eintracht Frankfurt as Liverpool look to finalise a deal for him.

That’s according to SportBILD, who report that hopes are growing at the German club that they will receive €100m from the deal.

According to their information, Ekitiké wants to join Liverpool, and the Frenchman has now submitted his transfer request to the bosses in charge at Frankfurt.

This is because Liverpool have reportedly signalled to Frankfurt that they will pay the requested transfer fee. An offer worth €100m is expected shortly. The Reds also reportedly have an agreement with the striker, with a contract until 2031 on the table.

The path has been made clear for them as Newcastle have dropped out of the race. They failed to reach an agreement with the striker. Ekitiké is believed to have been unconvinced about a move to St James Park.

Eintracht had refused to accept offers until there was a personal agreement in place with the player. Now Liverpool have that, their offer is more likely to be accepted.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg, meanwhile, reports that Liverpool’s first official offer is now in. all previous figures had only been discussed internally and verbally between the two clubs. Negotiations are ongoing and there is still no agreement.

Ekitiké wants to join Liverpool, though, and so the deal is now advancing, and the Reds are looking likely to get their new centre-forward.
