Real Betis have contacted the entourage of Marcelo Bielsa, according to claims from the Spanish media.
Website El Desmarque claims that the La Liga side are looking for a manager for next season, and the Leeds United boss stands out as one of their favourite options.
The outlet doesn’t seem to know Bielsa’s response to the approach, but they claim he’s looking to leave England in the summer, as he wants to go back to the ‘front page’, and Spain would be a good destination.
It’s also with great optimism that they say that his contract with Leeds United expires at the end of the season, allowing him to sign for Betis as a free agent. They also point out he hasn’t stayed for over two years in any of his recent jobs.
El Desmarque writes that only a miracle would keep Rubi in charge of Betis for next season, and that’s why the club are already looking at their options. Besides Bielsa, other names on the table are those of Marcelino Garcia Toral and Manuel Pellegrini.
Now would Bielsa leave Leeds for Betis in case he finally gets the promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season? It sounds like El Desmarque are being far too optimistic about it.
