Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has landed in Munich ahead of signing his contract to become Bayern Munich’s next head coach.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who provides images of Kompany’s flight landing at Munich as he heads to the German giants to sign his deal.
He reports that Kompany ‘has just landed in Munich’ before travelling to Bayern to sign a contract until 2027.
That is the latest step in his move from Burnley this week, with Plettenberg reporting earlier today that today is the day for the Belgian boss.
He had reported that the Burnley manager would arrive in Munich today and sign a contract until 2027 with the German giants.
Everything had already been ‘booked and prepared’, and announcement is expected for today, with a press conference planned ‘very soon’.
The deal for Kompany has progressed quickly this week after Bayern Munich identified him as the man to replace Thomas Tuchel.
A report earlier today indicated that Kompany had accepted the job within minutes and Bayern had pushed forward from there, agreeing a €10.5m deal to make him their new manager.
That’s now progressing, and it appears Kompany has arrived in Munich to finalise matters and secure arguably one of the most surprising moves of the summer.
