According to claims in the Dutch media, FC Twente could be interested in signing former Leeds United winger Jordan Botaka.

The Congo international was released by Leeds United at the end of last season, and the player has been linked with a move back to the Netherlands.

Twente Insight have claimed the Dutch club could look to land Botaka on a free transfer this summer. Twente had tried to sign Botaka before he moved to Leeds United, and will again face competition to sign the player, with several Dutch clubs interested.

The 23-year-old joined the Championship side in 2015 from Excelsior, but he was loaned out to Charlton Athletic last season. In total Botaka made just three league starts for Leeds United.

Last week it was confirmed Leeds had signed Mateusz Klich from Twente on a three-year deal. The Poland international became the first signing for Leeds United’s new manager Thomas Christiansen, and it’s expected more players will arrive before the transfer deadline.
