Good things come to those who wait, and that’s certainly how Caen think about signing Prince Oniangue from Wolves.

They had wanted the midfielder available for the start of preseason, but that was over a week ago and the deadline passed.

Wolves won’t have been in a huge hurry to push the deal through, it’s not exactly their most important business of the summer, and Caen saw the process slow down.

It’s actually longer than a week that Caen have been waiting for Oniangue. He played for their youth team for six years until 2005 and this is seen as a return home.

Despite being born in the Paris area, Oniangue has family living nearby and the transfer suits everyone involved.

Ouest France really talk up the 29 year old in their Friday edition and how pleased Caen are, explaining he’s turned into an all round midfielder and has shown how useful he can be in Ligue 1.

Having been on loan at Angers last season, the newspaper say he helped them change fortune.

Oniangue will be a key and senior player for Caen and is certainly be welcomed with open arms.
