The Spanish media have become a little bored with the Jonny to Wolves story.

Having reported it for a number of days, there was nothing in the newspapers on Tuesday.

That’s perhaps because there didn’t need to be, everything had already been explained with regards to why the transfer was happening and how the deal would take shape. And it gave the English media a chance to catch up on the story.

Wednesday’s edition of AS has a small snippet on the situation and it’s titled ‘Waiting for Jonny’, they then go on to explain agreement between the clubs was all completed this week.

It’s not clear if they mean they mean it’s a case of waiting for Jonny to give his approval or simply waiting for the deal to be announced and the money to arrive, but there’s absolutely no doubt placed on the deal… AS don’t present it as being in the balance at this stage.

A few days ago, AS stated‘Chelsea signed Morata in the summer of 2017 for five seasons in exchange for €65m plus €13m in variables. The striker has already had a campaign at Chelsea and was halfway through the second. What the English club requires of Atletico, in addition to taking charge of the salary of the striker, is paying the amortisation of the signing for the remainder of the year and then the next season. The figures come out around €16m per full campaign.’

Atletico wanted Wolves to cover this, which is where the rough €20m figure has come from.
