Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Julen Lopetegui ‘plans to make a comeback’ for Osasuna defender David García in the summer.
That’s according to AS, who say the Wolves coach ‘has not forgotten’ about the player after trying to sign him in the January transfer window.
Lopetegui is planning for the future at Molineux after guiding Wolves away from relegation danger this season.
They’re currently 13th and seven points clear of the drop, a gap that means they are not completely safe yet but should be big enough to help them avoid the drop, nonetheless.
Plans for the summer window are now beginning and improving Wolves defence, which has conceded 42 goals in the league this season, is key and it seems the Spanish coach has one name in mind.
The newspaper reports that Lopetegui ‘tried to sign’ Osasuna defender García in January and plans to make a comeback for him in the summer after that failed attempt.
There’s no mention of what he wants to pay for the 29-year-old or even if he or Osasuna are interested in a sale, just that the Wolves boss plans to make another bid to bring him to Molineux in the summer.
