Arsenal have identified Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi as the potential candidate to replace Mikel Arteta in the future, according to Tuttosport.
The Spaniard has helped the Gunners lead the league table with 72 points, eight points ahead of Manchester City, who are in the second spot.
There may be a possibility Arteta could leave Arsenal and if that were to happen, the north London club have identified the Brighton coach as the target to replace him.
De Zerbi took charge at The Amex last September, after Graham Potter left the Seagulls. The Italian’s work at Brighton this season seem to have not gone unnoticed, especially at the Emirates.
It’s claimed there’s been a ‘very juicy indiscretion’ as the Brighton coach’s agent, Edoardo Crnjar, has already received ‘signals’ from Arsenal about his client.
If Arteta helps the Gunners win the title and feels his cycle at the club has come to an end, then De Zerbi will be in the pole position to replace him.
Arsenal or any other club could take him away from Brighton by paying his €13m release clause.
De Zerbi’s just an idea for Arsenal at the moment, if Arteta were to leave the London club. This idea would potentially take shape only if the Spaniard decides to leave the Gunners.
