Michał Karbownik has been out on loan since he joined Brighton & Hove Albion from Legia Warsaw in 2020.
Last summer, the left-back joined Fortuna Düsseldorf on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.
The Brighton owned player has impressed for the second division German club, scoring a goal and managing six assists from 19 matches this season.
Karbownik’s fine displays should help him receive a call up from Poland manager Fernando Santos for the upcoming international break. It has also seen him attract interest from other clubs.
Fortuna Düsseldorf could make the 22-year-old’s stay permanent and sell him for profit in the next window. This is according to journalist Tomasz Włodarczyk, who made this claim during Meczyki’s program, Pogadajmy o piłce.
“In the context of the future, it must be admitted that the interest in Michał Karbownik is very high and it will be difficult for Fortuna to keep him in the summer. At this point, different directions are at play,” Włodarczyk said, relayed by Transfery.info.
“If there is an offer on the table and they know about it, they will buy the defender and make extra money on this transfer.”
Karbownik’s deal at Brighton expires in 2024. The buying option for Fortuna Düsseldorf and the interest from elsewhere would mean he could leave the Seagulls permanently after this season.
