Nottingham Forest are working on signing Botafogo’s Igor Jesus, Jair Cunha and Cuiabano this summer.

On May 30th, journalist Jorge Nicola reported Nottingham Forest want to wrap up the three deals within days.

A day later, UOL said Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has built a good relationship with Botafogo owner John Textor, and that’s behind it all. On Monday, we covered claims from Brazil that Marinakis’ personal talks are helping the Reds to sign Igor Jesus, Jair Cunha and Cuiabano.

Textor also owns Lyon and Crystal Palace and wants to take Nottingham Forest’s Danilo to the French club.

That’s according to Globo Esporte, who state Lyon made a €25m offer for the midfielder and the fee will be paid in four instalments. Nottingham Forest paid €18m to buy him from Palmeiras in January 2023 and can now make profit by selling him.

The 24-year-old suffered an ankle injury in August and returned in January. Since then, he’s played less than 500 minutes from 12 games.

Nuno Espírito Santo is working to reshape his squad and Globo state Lyon believe this is ‘another advantage’ for them to sign Danilo, although how much input Nuno would have is likely questionable.
