Jean-Michel Aulas loves talking to the press, that’s just who he is.
In fact, his favourite topic of conversation was Paris Saint-Germain, but it reached a stage where he decided he wouldn’t talk about them in public, so he’s moved onto Alexandre Lacazette now.
The Lyon president has spoken to the media quite a few times about his summer exploits since the end of the transfer window, rejecting offers for his star striker from Premier League clubs, who have been revealed as Arsenal and West Ham.
The two London clubs were looking for a new striker throughout the summer, and both attempted to bring Lacazette to the capital, to no avail.
What is interesting, however, is the amounts quoted by Aulas over the past couple of months or so, as they seem to increase everytime.
Speaking to Le Figaro earlier this month, the 67-year-old revealed West Ham had made a €50m offer for Lacazette, while Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain had expressed an interest.
Things have apparently changed in two weeks, though, as this fee appears to have now gone up by €5m.
In an interview with Tuttosport in Italy, Aulas said: “This summer, we rejected €55m for Lacazette from two Premier League clubs and €37m from Napoli for Tolisso.”
Which is it, then? €50m from one Premier League clubs or €55m from two, which have to be West Ham and Arsenal, really.
What’s next? €60m from both London clubs and Paris Saint-Germain?
