Javi Gracia joined Leeds United in February 2023 and was out of Elland Road by May of that year. Some, including the manager himself, thought the decision was harsh and that he had the chance to achieve the club’s goals.
There was a belief he’d be back in work relatively quickly, whether moving from Leeds United to somewhere else in England, going back to Spain or having an adventure further afield such as he did with Al-Sadd before the Whites job.
The 54-year-old, however, remains out of work, and may now be encouraged to consider something completely different.
Claims on Tuesday state he’s one of a number of options being lined up for a pretty big job… in Mexico.
La Opinion report he’s one of three candidates at Chivas de Guadalajara. The other two are also Spaniards, Albert Celades and Óscar García.
There’s no indication which one is the favourite at this moment in time, but Gracia could be set for a big adventure in Mexico.
