The situation of Wolves’ Nelson Semedo made it to the front page of Record two days ago.

Interest from Benfica was reported and there was a feeling that advanced talks could be held with the full-back soon, with the Portuguese’s current contract running out at the end of the season.

Bringing the 31-year-old back from Wolves would seem an attractive proposition for Benfica, largely because they would not have to pay a transfer fee.

Confidence now seems to be rising in Portugal about the move and Record have reflected on that today.

They believe that ‘it’s great news’ that Semedo wants to return eight years after he initially left to join Barcelona in 2017.

The newspaper explain the Wolves man is already preparing to join the Portuguese giants in the summer and the indication is that he would fix a major issue in the side without costing the club a transfer fee.

They describe him as a ‘quality’ player, with Semedo having played 26 times in all competitions this season.

He is still a reliable squad option in the Wolves side, yet an exit is looking increasingly likely.
