Werder Bremen defender Ludwig Augustinsson has been attracting interest in the summer transfer window.

Earlier in June, we carried a report from SportBild, who claimed Watford and another unnamed club had put the left-back in the summer ‘shopping list’.

The German publication had mentioned the player wanted to continue with the Bundesliga outfit, but it was the situation could change if he impressed for Sweden at the 2018 World Cup.

Augustinsson started in all five matches for his national side as they were knocked out in the quarter-final by England. The 24-year-old was part of Sweden’s defence who kept three clean sheets and conceded only four goals at the Fifa tournament in Russia.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claim newly promoted Premier League club Fulham have identified the Bremen defender as a transfer target. The Cottagers have already ‘made contact’ with the German club for the full-back.

Augustinsson has been with Bremen since 2017 and his contract at the club runs down in 2021. The report mentions, apart from Fulham, AC Milan are also in the race for the Swedish international’s signature.
