Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has revealed he considered making a switch to Saudi Arabia.

The Portugal international has seen his former Citizens teammate Aymeric Laporte, and compatriots Cristiano Ronaldo and Rúben Neves move to the Middle East in the last 12 months.

RTP interviewed the Manchester City player, and he talked about the possibility of making a switch to Saudi Arabia. His comments are relayed by O Jogo.

Despite talking about the temptation of earning big in Saudi Arabia, the 29-year-old’s priority is to compete in Europe.

“It would be a lie to say I didn’t think about it [offers from Saudi], but I want to play in the Champions League semi-finals, score against Real Madrid, win the Champions League, I don’t want to give up on that,” he said.

The former Benfica man was one of the key players in Manchester City’s treble success last season. He has managed three goals and three assists from 13 games this season.

The attacking midfielder is left-footed and on this, Silva explained: “Yes, I’ve always been noticed, but I regret never having worked my right foot very well. I’m left-handed, I write with my left, but there are things I do with my right hand.”

Earlier this week, the player revealed that he would be willing to return to Benfica.

Silva was on Barcelona’s radar for a long-time and they failed to secure his services in the last two summer windows. This seems to have convinced him to sign a new deal [until 2026] at Manchester City back in August.
