Ipswich Town have opened talks with Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise over a deal for Cameron Puertas.

That’s according to Sudinfo, who report that a €15m deal is currently being discussed between the two sides for the midfielder.

They report that Ipswich are in ‘ongoing discussions’ over the Swiss star, who is ‘more than ever on the move’.

According to their information, Puertas is keen on a move this summer after being elected as Pro Footballer last year and a move to the Premier League would appeal greatly.

Ipswich are ready to offer it to him and have opened discussions with Union SG around a €15m fee, which would satisfy those in charge of the Belgian club. There is also an offer on the table from an unnamed Saudi Arabian club.

Puertas has previously held off on such a move, though, and would surely do the same here with the prospect of a move to the Premier League on offer.

Either way, Sudinfo state that it is a ‘safe bet’ that the midfielder will be on his way in the ‘coming days’ and at the moment it appears to be Ipswich who are leading the race.
