Juventus are ‘willing to talk’ to Liverpool about a deal for Federico Chiesa after the Reds asked about him las summer.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who say that the Italian side have set a €50-60m price tag on the player and Liverpool’s ‘interest has not waned’.
The newspaper explains that Juventus want to sign Chiesa to a new deal, with his current contract expiring in 2025 but know that to do so they will need to ‘make a financial sacrifice’ to do so.
They don’t have the funds to match Chiesa’s demands nor are they entirely willing to do so given he’s asking for the numbers of a top player and is yet to guarantee he’s worthy of them.
Thus, the possibility of a transfer has opened up, with the club making it clear that no player in the current squad is untransferable.
Fali Ramadani, Chiesa’s agent, has been in Turin in recent weeks and has constant contact with the Juventus management.
He’s been made aware the Italian giants would be ‘willing to talk’ to interested parties if a renewal cannot be struck and the agent, alongside the player and his father, are reflecting on matters.
All eyes at this point are on the English market, with the Premier League a ‘welcome destination’ for the player if he is to leave.
Liverpool asked for information on the player from the Bianconeri last summer without making a decisive move and that ‘interest has not waned’ since then, according to the newspaper.
Juventus would be more than open to talks, although they’d have to start at €50m, perhaps even €60m, if the transfer was to ever take place.
