Chelsea are showing an interest in Paraguayan forward Ramón Sosa as they plan for another busy summer transfer window.
That’s according to journalist Hernan Castillo, via Versus, who reports that Chelsea have their eye on the 24-year-old.
The Paraguayan newspaper relay reports from Argentina, with Castillo recently making an appearance on Radio Continental AM 590 when he revealed the Blues interest.
“Chelsea wants Ramón Sosa,” he is quoted as saying, insisting that those in charge at Stamford Bridge are interested in the CA Talleres winger.
That was all he was able to provide on the potential move, with Versus then turning to Argentine journalist Germán García Grova for further information.
They cover him reporting that Talleres have put a $20m asking price on their player, so that is the figure Chelsea would have to pay if they want him.
The newspaper add that Sosa seems destined to move in the summer and ‘everything indicates’ he’ll be one of the major departures in Argentina in the coming months.
He’s already been linked with a move to the Premier League, with his agent insisting in January that he had already spoken to Everton about him.
At the time we questioned that given Sosa’s career to date hasn’t particularly been groundbreaking, although his tally of 16 goals and 11 assists in51 games for Talleres isn’t terrible.
Still a step up from the Liga Profesional to the Premier League with Chelsea would be a major one and give he’s 24 already, we have doubts.
It’s a situation to keep an eye on but we suspect there is an agent somewhere trying to drum up interest in England.
