We all know that Pedro Caixinha didn’t last very long at Rangers, as he only worked at the club for a few months back in 2017, long before Philippe Clement’s successful reign.
The Portuguese manager struggled to get results from the off at Ibrox, and ended up leaving Europe soon after to work in other continents after that.
Caixinha is currently in charge of Bragantino in Brazil, and was now interviewed by Globo Esporte to talk about his career, which included his spell at Rangers.
With him dealing with players from so many nationalities, he was asked about the difference between some of them, and the manager ended up revealing that it was at Rangers where he had the biggest difficulty dealing with the squad.
“The way I approached, the way I started working, was immediately very direct, very clear and very demanding. I didn’t negotiate things a bit, I didn’t analyse things and I went straight in. I didn’t look for the first step of convincing. Then I learnt a lot that convincing was fundamental in terms of being able to overcome the initial inertia.”
Caixinha was signed by Rangers in March 2017, and was sacked at the start of the following season, in October 2017.
He ended up only being in charge of the Ibrox side for 26 matches, getting 14 wins, five draws and seven assists.
Since leaving Rangers, he has worked at Cruz Azul, Al-Shabab, Santos Laguna, Talleres and finally Bragantino, where he has a contract until the end of the year.
