INEOS’ bid for Manchester United is holding up Nice’s search for a new manager, with Graham Potter the frontrunner for the position.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who say those in charge at INEOS are ‘obsessed’ with winning the battle to buy Manchester United from the Glazers, and that has left Nice waiting to resolve their own future issues.
We covered a report yesterday from RMC Sport that stated similar, explaining how those in charge at INEOS had become concerned with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s attempts to buy Manchester United and how that was impacting their other clubs.
They explained that the ongoing battle for control at Old Trafford was proving to be a ‘disruptive’ influence at the French club and was leading to anger within it.
L’Equipe now follow that up and explain how Potter is the one that everyone at the club wants as their new manager, and he is ready to make the move as well.
Meetings have taken place to make it happen, but it is yet to be finalised as Nice are ‘experiencing a slow spring’ because of the bid for Manchester United.
INEOS are ‘obsessed’ with those ‘negotiations’ and beating the competition for Sheikh Jassim, and whether they do or not will impact Nice.
If INEOS get control of Manchester United, they will become the ‘major club’ in their portfolio, but without them, Nice will remain the priority.
Either way the French side would like to hear from their bosses about where they are going and what they are doing, something that is yet to happen as INEOS’ leadership is too focused on buying Manchester United.
