Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Hugo Bueno has shared his delight at making his debut for the club, but insisted he still wants more.
Bueno joined Wolves from Areosa U19s in 2019s, initially joining their U18 set up before moving into the U21s a year later.
He’s since been working his way towards the first team and finally broke through to make his debut last week, playing a minute in the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
He followed that with his full debut in the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace last night, starting and finishing the game as well as providing the assist for Adama Traore’s opener.
It’s been a rapid rise for the 20-year-old, who started this season sat on the bench against Leeds United and was looking likely to play a substitute role at best throughout the campaign.
Injuries have given him his opportunity, though, and while that is something he is delighted with he admits he still wants more at Wolves.
“I’m very happy because in the end it’s the reward for all the work of all these years. And I’m also happy for how it was, totally unexpected,” he told La Voz de Galicia.
“What they say that you always have to be prepared in case one day the possibility arises is totally true and I can vouch for that.
“(The plan is) to keep working, without believing it, so that more opportunities come and take advantage of them.
“I’m delighted to debut in the Premier League, but I’m still not satisfied. I want more. And for that I have to work at my best.”
