Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio today publishes an interview with Aston Villa star Nicolo Zaniolo, who’d been out with the national team during this international break.
The player spoke to the reporter in the Azzurri’s mixed zone, so they got straight to the point to talk about his year in England.
Zaniolo started by highlighting how strong he considers Aston Villa to be, saying Unai Emery’s side are up for the big challenges in the Premier League.
“Aston Villa are a strong team. Now we have Tottenham and some quite difficult matches but we are a strong team and we can win against everyone if we do things the way they should be done. Then there are still many games left and the objectives are long now but we are certainly a strong team and we can have our say,” said Zaniolo.
“Like everything, when you make a change you need time. I’m happy because the Premier League is a great league, Aston Villa are a great team, but in any case I still have to adapt well and better. I have a lot of time ahead and we hope to do it well, I want to show my qualities.”
In this international break, Italy beat North Macedonia and then had a draw with Ukraine. That was enough to guarantee their qualification for the Euro next year.
Zaniolo now switches his focus to Aston Villa, as they travel to London to play Tottenham Hotspur next Sunday.
Unai Emery’s side are currently 5th in the table, and a win over Spurs could mean a lot, as depending on the other results, they can even climb up to the 2nd place.
