Following the recent rumours linking Newcastle United to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the Italian media now shows their worry about the Magpies taking another talent from Serie A.
Funny comments were made today on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, where Telcrapi journalist Paolo Del Genio was talking about the rumour.
In quotes brought by Napoli Piu, the pundit it made it clear he doesn’t want to see Kvaratskhelia moving to Newcastle.
“Last year Spalletti wanted to chain himself up for Koulibaly, some fans would have chained up in the past for other players, I’ve never wanted to chain myself up for anyone, but this time I’ll chain myself up if Kvaratskhelia were to be sold because he’s truly irreplaceable,” said Paolo Del Genio.
It was at the weekend that the rumours linking Kvaratskhelia to Newcastle got more intense, with claims from the Italian media claiming the Magpies are ready to place an offer worth €90m for his signing.
Napoli have been spending the entire off-season protecting themselves from interest in Victor Osimhen, for whom it should take a lot more than €100m to sign, but it’s unknown how much they’d negotiate Kvaratskhelia’s exit for.
Featuring for the Italian champions last season, the Georgian winger had 14 goals and 17 assists in 43 appearances. It’s no surprise clubs start to seriously bid for him, and we shall see if Newcastle will succeed in that quest.
