It’s no secret that Dejan Kulusevski has been playing his part in Lucas Bergvall’s arrival at Tottenham Hotspur, as he’s already claimed that he helped to convince the youngster to choose Spurs over others.
Now as the 23-year-old is quoted by Swedish newspaper Göteborgs-Posten discussing the move, he talked a little bit more about what he’s expecting of the wonderkid’s arrival at the club.
Kulusevski made it clear that he’ll be there for Bergvall when he arrives at Tottenham, as the teenager could use a little help when changing countries.
“I will be a support if he needs help on the side. I’ve been there for a few years and I know about football abroad. He is a great player, and it will be fun to play with him,” said Kulusevski.
“I will be there for him, and I think it helps when someone has been through it before. You have to go through periods where you don’t play for a long time. It will be good for him to have someone who really cares about him.
“You never know how big the step will be mentally. We will see, but the football is inside him.”
Kulusevski also didn’t hide how excited he is that someone from the Swedish national team will be joining him at Tottenham.
“I’ve never had a Swedish teammate, so it will be incredibly fun for him to be there and to be there for him.”
Following Tottenham’s €10m agreement with Djurgarden for Bergvall’s transfer, the wonderkid continues to play for the Swedish club until the summer.
Featuring for them this season, he has three goals and four assists in six appearances so far. The local media is making big coverage of his final months in the country, as there’s lots of excitement about what he can do at Spurs.
