Yet to make an appearance for Brighton & Hove Albion’s first-team, Samy Chouchane is a name many who visit the Amex regularly may not have heard of.

However, he has been with the Seagulls since 2020, arriving at the age of 16 from AC Boulogne-Billancourt, quickly impressing in the U17s to now play with the U21s at just 19 years of age.

The player sat down with Tunisie Foot to discuss his situation with Brighton and his future at the club, as well as his hopes of fully representing Tunisia after being called up this international breaks for the games against Botswana and Egypt.

Asked about how the move to England came about when he was at ACBB, Chouchane reveals he was scouted and had multiple offers to consider.

He said: “I chose Brighton, who had come to see me and showed an interest, as one of three offers, because I was seduced by the club’s infrastructures. I immediately loved it, it was love at first sight. The Premier League, it makes you dream!”

Making his way through the ranks at Brighton, his first contract was signed in 2021, and it was extended by a year last summer, showing the club still have some plans for him.

That’s something he is happy about, and Chouchane reveals what his goals are this year with Roberto De Zerbi now in charge at the Amex.

He said: “Play as many games as possible with Brighton’s first-team and improve my statistics to win even more trophies.”
