Hajduk Split manager Mislav Karoglan has told Croatia’s Dalmatinski Portal that he would be pleased if his side were to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Ivan Perišić.
Back in September, the Croatia international suffered a serious knee injury during a training session with Spurs and has been sidelined since then. He underwent surgery and is expected to miss most of this season.
The Tottenham player’s injury hasn’t stopped him from being linked with a move back to Hajduk Split.
Sportske Novosti had earlier stated Hajduk Split have a verbal agreement in place with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy for the 34-year-old’s transfer. Two months ago, 24 Sata reported it is inevitable that Perišić will return to his former club.
The winger spent six years with the Croatian club’s academy before joining Sochaux in 2006. Karoglan has now opened the door for him to rejoin Hajduk Split.
When the manager was directly asked about the Tottenham man, he said: “I don’t know how his recovery is going after the injury, and the only thing I can say from my side is that I would like to have him in the dressing room whenever possible.”
The former Inter Milan man can leave the north London club as a free agent when his deal with them expires next summer. He’s managed two assists from six games this season.
