To absolutely no one’s surprise, the agent of Radu Dragusin is still giving away details of the defender’s move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Florin Manea’s latest interview was given to Romanian outlet Fanatik, and there, he detailed the big battle there was for the transfer.
The agent once again confirmed that Dragusin was close to joining Bayern Munich, claiming the Bundesliga giants had made a late offer to beat Tottenham in the race. And revealed that Thomas Tuchel worked hard in trying to convince the player to snub Spurs.
“The offer from Bayern came in the last few days. When an offer comes from Bayern, you have to put the brakes on, evaluate it. We are talking about Bayern Munich. Bayern understood too,” said Manea.
“We asked them for a night to think, but we had already given our word to Tottenham. Tuchel called Radu personally. He spoke with Radu for half an hour. I could hear everything he was saying.”
The agent claims that Dragusin had already picked Tottenham, so Tuchel’s efforts couldn’t change his mind.
“He had a match right away. He had no emotion. Even Gilardino asked me if he could put it in, to play. He was the best on the field. Tuchel asked him if he could also play right back, but he didn’t say that’s where he wanted to use him. He was already decided on Tottenham.”
Tottenham spent €25m to take Dragusin from Genoa, and the agent previously claimed that Daniel Levy made a very good salary bid to show the gratitude for the player having chosen them.
The defender only had a few minutes for Spurs on the pitch so far, as he was a substitute in the Premier League clash against Manchester United, and should soon get the first chances to start for the London club.
