Over the past few days, there has been talk about Martin Ødegaard potentially signing a new contract at Arsenal.
This would be great news for the Gunners, since the Norway international is one of their best players but the player himself was rather reserved when asked if there was any truth in the rumours.
Following what had previously been posted about the Arsenal star and his renewal, Nettavisen asked Ødegaard directly about it while he was on international duty with his country.
However, the former Real Madrid starlet refused to directly acknowledge the whispers but did praise his current club by making it clear that if it were up to him, he wouldn’t be going anywhere.
He said: “I don’t have much to say, apart from the fact that I am very happy at Arsenal and I hope I can be there for a long time. Beyond that, I have no comment right now. Now, it is the national team that is in focus.”
Norway next face Georgia in a 2024 Euros qualifier on Tuesday night after warming up with an easy win over Jordan in a friendly.
Ødegaard will then return to Arsenal, where they will want to build on their most recent result in the Premier League: a 3-1 win over Manchester United at the Emirates.
