Milos Kerkez has had an impressive season at Bournemouth.
The left-back has scored twice and racked up six assists in the Premier League, and it’s turning out to be the best individual campaign of his career to date.
The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the best left-backs in the League and is attracting attention from multiple clubs.
Kerkez has now spoken to Gianluca di Marzio as part of their ‘Don’t call it Cinderella’ documentary and he credited his father for his rise.
He said: “The most important person in my life is my dad. Always pushing me and even if I do a top game he always finds something to say bad and that’s what I like because if he only tells good you start to do less.”
Speaking further about his father, he said: “He pushes me in every game and every training. One day, when I was younger, he said: ‘Follow and believe what you want to do, work for it. Don’t give up, never’. I followed his advice and today I am here, thanks to my dad.”
Kerkez also pointed out the difference between how the game is perceived in Italy, Hungary and England.
He claimed: “For Italy, I can say calm. Hungary is love. England? Crazy, everyone loves football.”
Speaking of his daily schedule, Kerkez presented himself as someone who is fully focused on the game.
He said: “My life is boring, I’m only focused in football, but I like to play games and I love dogs, I have a Rottweiler here.”
The Hungary international himself is benefitting from it and it can help him secure a big move away from the Cherries. It is clear that Bournemouth will need to find a capable replacement for Kerkez and use the money they earn effectively in the summer.
